Yep, That's Me!

"I was hooked from the start"

Music has been in Reids' blood since early childhood. His first instrument was an improvised drum set made from a diaper pail and an old Charles’ Chips canister. His brother played toy guitar and his sister was the go-go dancer. He called their band "The Bugs" ("The Beatles" was already taken).

“My paternal grandfather, J.E. Myers, Sr. owned an amusement business back in the 60's and 70's providing pinball machines and jukeboxes to various businesses. Not surprisingly, we had a jukebox in our own home.

My Grandad would let us go through his boxes upon boxes of 45’s and let us take what ever we wanted, except for the newest releases. We didn’t’ know who most of the artist were but we soon learned. I was introduced to some fantastic music. Rock, Pop, Country, Soul, R&B. I loved it all!"

Reid has been writing and performing in bands since he was 15. From playing drums in Argosy and moving on to keyboards and vocals with the rock band SpiderDance and playing keyboards in the country band Scarlett in the 70's.

Reid began performing as a solo act in Florida in the 80's. He eventually joined with the late Scott Zimmerman to form the band Backstreet. They would eventually produce their Album 'First Avenue".

Moving back to Kentucky Reid continued his solo career before taking a long respite from performing. Of course he couldn't stay away forever, so he began doing solo gigs again. He went on to play with bands such as Catch 22, SoupBone & The Cornbread Horns, Rhythm City Groove, Myers & McFarland, and Ebony & Ivory.

Reid continues to perform live as a solo artist and is busy recording an album for release mid 2026. He is also booking his latest project, Keynote Concerts.
